Carmen Kass for Gucci Spring 2003

At the time this campaign came out, I was wearing Nike tracksuits and had never heard of Chanel (which seems like a long long time ago).
However, I can't help but gasp at how modern this Gucci campaign is, considering it was nearly 10 years ago. And so VERY sexy! Clothes featured are so wearable - I would easily wear every piece in this shoot.

The campaign features another successful Estonian model Carmen Kass who, I must say, hasn't aged a day and is still a regular in many major fashion shows and high fashion ad campaigns. Unsurprisingly, the campaign came out when Gucci was under creative leadership of certain Mr Ford - no way their current big boss Frida Giannini would allow ladies' private parts to be shown so revealingly :) But I like the shots - they are very different but still clearly show Gucci's unmistakable glamour.

Trend alert: Printed Jeans

I always only follow a trend if I truly like it and if it fits within my usual style. Every season I get very excited about what new (or forgotten old :) ideas the designers have come up with but no matter how fashionable something is or how many magazine editors wear it on front rows of fashion shows, if I don't like the item I will never buy it.

I am happy to see that quite a few trends this season are very much to my liking, one of them being printed jeans. Jeans have been and always will be one of my favourite piece of clothing. To be honest, I did start getting a little bored with just blacks and blues, so all this new choice of bright colours and fabulous prints are very welcome indeed!

My trend sets have proven to be popular with my dear readers, so I have decided to make this a regular feature in my blog. About once every 2 weeks I will pick a theme, scour the net for the best designer and high street pieces and then post my choices in the blog. I have found this activity to be quite helpful for myself as well when I am looking to buy something specific. I love online shopping, so if I manage to help someone to find their perfect pair of jeans and at the same time finding them for myself as well - this I think can be called 2 for 1 :) Enjoy!

Style Inspiration - Abbey Lee Kershaw

Professional fashion models, in my opinion, always pull off the best casual girl-about-town looks. Being constantly surrounded by the most amazing clothes & accessories and the best stylists in the world must surely influence even the least fashion-savvy girl.

One of today's most successful models who has caught my eye with her brilliantly I-have-just-thrown-together-this-look-in-the-dark looks is 24-year-old Australian-born supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw. Kershaw was discovered by a model scout at the Australian beach when she was just 16 years old. During her highly successful modelling career she has fronted many high-profile ad campaigns for brands such as Gucci, Versace and Rag & Bone. Abbey Lee is also an artist who does abstract painting.

I am a huge fan of her personal style and the way she layers random garments to create that effortlessly cool look. I don't usually want to exactly copy anyone's style but her looks are so inspirational and she makes it look like it's really easy to create that perfect off-duty model look by just throwing on anything you have in your wardrobe. Definitely will try this out in the very near future!

This week's lust have

Sometimes when I have a bit of free time, I love scouring the internet and flicking through my favourite online fashion stores. I don’t actually recommend it, as at least once a week I always come across to something I fall madly in love with and cannot get out of my head until the item is in my hands or has sold out.

Like the neon yellow Marni necklace I loved so much. I thought about it every day (sad, I know!) and almost bought it on several occasions. Yet, in the end I could not justify spending nearly £200 on a necklace, so I hinted it to my bf as a present suggestion for my upcoming birthday in March. Unfortunately, exactly a day after I showed him the necklace, it was sold out on net-a-porter :’-(
I must admit I still have a tiny little hope left in my heart that it was him who bought the last one, but knowing him I highly doubt about it..

Anyway, I will most probably need to forget about it and move on. And I have found the new love!!! Diane von Furstenberg is one of the most legendary American designers and I find some to-die-for pieces in her every collection. Pastels is a huge trend for S/S 2012 and I cannot think of anything more delicious than this lush pastel pink silk top from DvF latest cruise collection. Perfect for my trip to the Canary Islands in April! I just hope that by the time I have gotten over its price tag it is still available to buy :-)

Cindy Crawford's daughter Kaia models for Versace

I haven't kept it a secret that Cindy Crawford was, is and always will be my number one favourite model. I have been a massive fan of her since I was 10 years old and I still get beyond excited every time I see her on a magazine cover. I have a whole cupboard in my house full of magazines, clippings, postcards, etc of her. My Cindy collection is still growing!

I am not surprised that her two children, 12-year-old son Presley and 10-year-old daughter Kaia have inherited their mother's impeccable genetics and are probably the most good-looking kids I have ever seen :) That must be one of the reasons Versace has chosen Kaia to be the face of their Young Versace line. I must say she looks fantastic in the campaign and I am very excited about her following her famous mum's footsteps in modelling, as when Cindy retires one day, I will hopefully have someone new to adore :-)

I cannot wait to see the full campaign once it comes out but here is the teaser which was published today (don't you think she looks a bit more like young Laetitia Casta than CC on the picture?):

The Neon Fever!

One of my favourite trends of 2011 which is still going strong this year is neon yellow. Before magazines and online fashion world started shouting about it and featuring it in their ubercreative, artistically put-together photoshoots, I never really thought I could pull off this look-at-me! colour myself. However, when adding just one piece of it into my outfit, it looks absolutely brilliant! Just look at this Cavalli belt and try to imagine it popping against a grey outfit - simply fabulous!

I am also greatly inspired by below outfit of Chiara Ferragni, one of the best fashion bloggers in the World (just check out www.theblondesalad.com). Totally adorable combo of neutral beige and neon yellow - a perfect holiday out and about outfit.

And, I am still hoping to get my hands of this too-fab-for-words Marni necklace which I featured in one of my earliest posts. Well, my birthday is fast approaching, so here is to the hoping :-)

I Love Wildfox

Wildfox Couture has been one of my favourite American labels for quite a while now. Their amazing fabrics and fun but very wearable designs won my heart the moment I first laid an eyes on one of their T-shirts on ASOS. The label was founded by two childhood friends from LA who say that their brand is based on love and having fun!

At the moment I own around 10 pieces of their clothing and could not believe my eyes when I saw their latest White Label collection - too stunning for words! I really want every single item in that collection. Just see yourself, I am sure you will fall in love too and by the time you finish looking through these pictures, I guarantee you will be looking dreamily out of the window without even noticing it (in case you are near the window, of course :-). Enjoy...
